What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Associate position at Graceland Church?
The Elementary Associate will be primarily, but not limited to, working with and investing in a team of volunteers and parents to encourage, equip and help grow our elementary kids and families in our church.
- As a leader in our church, there is an expectation that you will be or become a member of Graceland Church and minister to both employees and congregants.
- Recruit, train and place volunteers on the elementary team for Sunday mornings during all services
- Communicate and schedule volunteers using our scheduling system to coordinate
- Plan and prep curriculum for each Sunday
- Prep and set up rooms for Sunday mornings
- Help create a warm and welcoming environment for kids and families in our kids’ area on Sundays
- Make sure our kids’ area is safe and secure during all services
- Connect with kids and families during both services
- Support volunteers during services in case of special needs, emergencies and circumstances that require a staff person or leader to intervene
- Help assist in the transition between services
- Go through our end of services process at the end of all our services
- Work with our kid’s admin for general administrative duties such as attendance, kids that have missed for a while, birthday cards, etc.
- Plan and execute specific events throughout the year (VBS, family events, etc.)
- To work with and coordinate with our preschool director to create a cohesion within our overall kid’s ministry (scheduling, events, special services, etc.)
- Be part of and participate in our next gen meetings and be engaged in the overarching next gen ministry of Graceland, primarily at the New Albany campus
