Electric Vehicle and Diesel Technician
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hardware, and software issues.
- Perform maintenance, testing, and calibration of repaired products.
- Prepare reports for analyzing product failure trends and serviceability issues.
- May assist field-based technicians in failure diagnostics and repair.
- Use equipment such as oscilloscope, digital voltmeter, current probes for measurements.
- Experience with tools like Vector CANalyzer, Pico Scope, NexiQ, Somat, Dewesoft, and LabView for data collection and analysis.
- Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams Chat for reporting and communication.
- Repair and/or replace components in diesel engines, hydraulic, air conditioning, electrical, and suspension systems, as well as other vehicle systems.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate’s degree.
- At least 3 years of experience supporting engineering activities or in automotive or diesel mechanics.
Desired Skills:
- Previous experience with commercial truck and engine assembly, repair, and fabrication.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills.
- Experience with vehicles, including commercial, off-highway, or agricultural vehicles.
- Knowledge of alternative fuels, including Electric Vehicles (EV) and/or Propane.
- Familiarity with Cummins/Allison/Eaton/Duramax systems.
- Training in truck and diesel engine mechanics.
- Welding and fabrication skills (Tig, Mig, Stick, Oxy-Acetylene, plasma cutting).
- Experience with multimeter, module programming, and standard electronic diagnostic tools.
- Prior dealership or fleet service experience.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
