Job Title : Pharmacist PRN

Essential Role : This position is responsible for dispensing drugs prescribed by GraceMed Providers and providing information to patients about medications and their use. This position is also responsible for advising Providers on the selection, dosage, interactions, and side effects of medications.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Responsible for adhering to and maintaining protocols utilized by pharmacy support staff.
- Responsible for assisting with orientation and training of new pharmacy employees and reviews assigned pharmacy support staff quality of work at the direction of the Pharmacy Director.
- Verify the legality, safety and appropriateness of prescription orders, check the patient medication record before dispensing the prescription, ensure that the quantities of medication are dispensed accurately.
- Seek to collect and integrate information about the patient's drug history, clarify the patient's understanding of the intended dosage regimen and method of administration, and advise the patient of drug-related precautions.
- Compile and maintain information on all medicines, and particularly on newly introduced medicines, provide this information as necessary to our providers and to patients.
- Assure the timely and accurate filling of prescriptions and orders.
- Serves as preceptor to pharmacy support staff, pharmacy students and extended interns.
- Works closely with the providers and administrative staff to provide guidance and direction for best practices.
- Provides assistance with OSHA, emergency preparedness, infection control and regulatory compliance.
- Performs other appropriate duties as requested by supervisor.

Work Schedule : Monday thru Friday, 8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm. May require work outside of usual business hours; including evenings or weekends, to handle customer service or personnel issues and attend meetings and / or community events.
Working Conditions :
Medical office setting. Ability to sit and / or stand for long periods of time. Bending, stooping, and lifting (up to 50lbs.) may be required. Interaction with physicians, patients and other office personnel. May involve contact with angry, upset or ill persons. May involve potential exposure to blood and body fluids and other hazardous substances. Must have visual acuity and manual dexterity to interface with computer. Must have auditory acuity to handle phone calls.
