Care Manager Dispatcher-Mobile Response Team

The Care Manager Dispatcher advocates, coordinates, and ensures continuity of evidence-based care for individuals and families in need through a collaborative process of triage, assessment, planning, and communication. The dispatcher participates as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team and reports to the unit/department supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services related discipline and at least 1 year of experience in the mental health field. (Child welfare programs require 2 years of experience with at-risk populations and a child welfare certification. )
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical records, procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and document clinical activities and effectively communicate verbally with, provide information to, and respond to questions from managers, patients, service providers, managed care entities, family members, and other stakeholders.


FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Oversee the Mobile Crisis Referral Line operations, addressing crisis callers, finalizing referrals, and coordinating responses with the Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT).
  • Receive, assess, and prioritize incoming crisis calls, by gathering essential information from individuals, families, or concerned parties to determine the severity and urgency of each situation and assist adequate clinical staffing and MCRT response.
  • Completion of thorough assessments and coordination of community resources based on patient needs as per program requirements.
  • Complete all clinical and administrative documentation based on established timelines as per program requirements.
  • Communicate effectively and maintain cooperative relationships with internal and external resources.
  • Develop service plans, treatment plans, and/or aftercare plans with clear goals and objectives as per program requirements.
  • Maintain efficient workflow management and organization as per program requirements.
  • Maintain proficient quality of clinical documentation as per program requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned or needed as per program requirements.


COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Adheres to all applicable federal, state, local, and company-maintained standards of compliance, ethics, and policies concerned with the administration and delivery of agency services.
  • Meets deadlines, requirements, and expectations as established by the supervisor, agency, and department.
  • Completes administrative functions and data entry timely and accurate.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Abilities in reaching, bending, talking, fingering, sitting, carrying, standing, grasping, fine hand coordination, ability to hear, ability to read and write, and the ability to remain calm under stress. Ability to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds of dead weight alone. May be required to complete standing presentations.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

High-paced, collaborative team performance with an emphasis on critical thinking and decision-making with guidance from program supervisor/manager. Climate-controlled office environments with frequent exposure to clients. Some programs may require traveling within Hillsborough County via personal vehicle or agency vehicle to facilitate in-home client services or onsite clinical programs in a variety of socioeconomic neighborhoods.
