Position Title: Activities and Volunteer Coordinator
Reports to: Engagement and Connections Manager
Status: Part-Time (20-25 hours per week)

Overall Function: Gracious Grounds is seeking a positive, self-directed, detail-oriented individual to assist with our social and recreational programming and coordination of volunteers. This person will have a passion for providing introduction and exploration opportunities that enhance skills and further equip adults with intellectual disabilities in creating successful independence. He or she will work alongside our staff, including resident assistants, to design a monthly layout of volunteer-supported options for Gracious Grounds community members who wish to participate. The goal is for those involved to have fun and increase well-being through engagement, learning, and service opportunities.
Essential Overall Duties
- Work with the E&C Manager to incorporate the interests and priorities of our residents, and plan activities related to skill development, community integration, volunteerism, mental/physical well-being, and education
- Recruit and coordinate volunteers to lead and assist with activities and volunteer options
- Communicate with volunteers to determine availability and schedule monthly activities
- Design and distribute a monthly activities calendar (Canva) and Sign Up Genius. Share with community via print, email, Remind, and web based portal
- Coordinate any transportation as needed
- Communicate with support teams, residents, and volunteers regarding participation logistics
- Provide support for activities as needed, including evenings and weekends
- Act as a liaison between organizations and businesses offering activities and programs
- Contribute to a culture of physical and mental wellness for residents
- Match residents interested in volunteering with available opportunities
- Maintain a Volunteer Opportunities Calendar and Sign Up Genius
- Document interactions as needed and maintain resident confidentiality
- Assist with Gracious Grounds events including community celebrations and fundraising events
- Assist with various other duties as assigned by E & C Manager
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Related work experience serving individuals with disabilities preferred
- Any combination of equivalent training and experience which provides desired knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of service management, problem-solving, and advocacy
- Knowledge of disability services and mental health services preferred
- Strong organizational skills. Must be able to manage time and schedule effectively
- Strong communication skills and desire to work with a variety of volunteers and participants
- Some weekend and evening hours required
