Job Purpose The Factory Manager will manage all facets of the small single-site factory to achieve key manufacturing measures and corporate objectives while ensuring that employee morale and human capital is effectively managed. Revenue Scope: Overall management responsibility for the following/Level cutters: Deliveries to the Distribution Center/year cost less than $20M Factory hours/year (hourly labor) less than 100k Essential Duties Develop an annual plan including objectives, strategies, and resources required for the operation of the Cells other departments within the factory. Manage and monitor the performance of key operational measures such as customer service levels, cost to produce, inventory turns, warranty expense, first-pass test yields, scrap and rework, capital expense, spending and productivity, and efficiency. Manage direct and indirect labor to appropriate staffing levels and ensure that skills and abilities are being utilized and continually gaining new knowledge. Identify and implement corporate-wide manufacturing initiatives to improve cost, inventory turns and integrity, quality, and delivery of products. Provide direction, training, and leadership to staff and manufacturing employees and build relationships with non-manufacturing managers to ensure operational success. Communicate company and factory policies, procedures, and practices and ensure they are interpreted and applied correctly through C&Is, roundtables, staff meetings, and working in a factory. Manage factory capacity to meet targets for deliveries and cost. Manage, acquire, and maintain capital assets. Set expectations, monitor and evaluate performance, coach, and mentor, give recognition, or take corrective action if appropriate to factory staff and employees. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Support the introduction of new products according to project timetables. Identify processes and systems that support the manufacturing objective of continuous improvement. Must spend a minimum of 10% of the time on the factory floor. Other duties as assigned. Position Requirements Education/Certifications B.A. in Business, or B.S. in Engineering or equivalent Experience 8 years overall manufacturing experience to include methods, process improvement, and capital equipment purchases with a minimum of 5 years previous supervisory experience. Up to 3 years of experience as a Factory/ Plant Manager. Knowledge Knowledge of manufacturing information systems to include forecasting, MRP, SPC, labor, and costing Skills/Abilities/Competencies Leadership ability to include excellent coaching, facilitating, and counseling capabilities Excellent interpersonal communication skills Strong oral and written communicator Proven organization, analytical skills, and planning skills Demonstrated ability to recognize and successfully implement corporate/manufacturing initiatives Proven experience in developing and successfully managing annual budgets/plan to meet manufacturing goal We believe that teamwork, collaboration and the continuation of a strong culture best happens in person, yet we believe strongly in work/life balance.
