What are the responsibilities and job description for the Packer Supervisor position at Graco Oilfield Services?
The Packer Supervisor is responsible for performing all aspects of wellbore packer & plug operations in new and existing well construction phases of drilling and/or at the work over or pulling unit rig site as part of the completion or work over phase of well operation. Utilizing Graco tools and services, the supervisor will work directly with the workover contractor and the oil and gas operating customer at the well site to provide packer & plug expertise and direction during wellbore remediation or completion operations.
Requirements:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Confirms appropriate equipment assigned for wellbore before the job
- Supervises all work associated with rig site packer & plug operations
- Conducts safety meetings with rig crew ensuring work is done properly and safely
- Directs rig crew on the rig floor during operation of packer & plug tools downhole
- Oversees procedures are safely implemented and the equipment used is properly handled
- Develop and plans work activities with customer representatives to ensure correct equipment is ordered, used, serviced, and maintained according to company procedures
- Manages the equipment used in the packer & plug operations to ensure its safety and cleanliness
- Meets with Graco Oilfield Services managers and customer representatives concerning servicing customers’ well bore and other safety issues and concerns affecting the packer & plug operations
- Provides daily contact with and/or reporting to customers and Graco district regarding costs involved and equipment used
- Adheres to all Graco Oilfield Services policies, practices, and procedures
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Five (5) or more years of oilfield-related work/rigs or packer tool shop experience
- Prior work experience as a driller/operator and/or experience with packer & plug operations
- Supervisory skills and experience
- Ability to operate drilling rigs, work-over rigs and snubbing units
- Skilled at maintaining positive working relationships with employees and customers
- Extensive knowledge of all safety practices and measures in the rig and packer & plug operations
- Must have a safe driving record and be willing to submit to and able to pass a pre-employment drug test, MVR check, and criminal background check.
