The Senior Technical Content Editor plays a key role in the execution of Graco’s product content strategy and governance. The Senior Technical Content Editor will oversee the creation, editing, and publication of high-quality technical content. This role will manage content timelines, collaborate with writers, analysts, and strategists to product reliable technical documentation for our customers. The Senior Technical Content Editor will act as a liaison between engineering and the customer experience, ensuring technical documentation is well curated and developed with care and consistency.
What You Will Do At Graco
Product Content Production Management
- Coordinate the planning and creation of technical content, ensuring it meets project objectives.
- Manage the timeline for content publication, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Assign and manage writing and illustration tasks for a cross-functional team of technical writers and illustrators.
- Collaborate with writers and subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy and relevance of all documentation.
Technical Publications Quality Control
- Review and revise technical documents for clarity, grammar, spelling, and style consistency.
- Ensure content complies with technical publication standards and aligns with brand style guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Product Information Architect, Administrator, and Analyst ton continuously enhance content processes and governance.
- Partner with Compliance team to ensure that all technical documentation meets relevant industry regulations, standards, and legal requirements.
- Provide ongoing training, feedback, and mentorship to writers to help them refine their technical writing skills and maintain adherence to company style guidelines.
What You Will Bring To Graco
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Engineering, Technical Writing, or other related field.
- 5 years of experience in editorial or project management experience in technical writing.
- Proven experience as a technical writer or editor, with a strong understanding of various style guides .
- Experience using Oxygen XML Author and Teamcenter Content Management.
- Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to communicate them clearly and effectively.
- Proficiency in desktop publishing, multimedia production, and online documentation software.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Familiarity with web coding and authoring systems, such as HTML or XML; expertise with DITA XML preferred.
- Experience with content reuse strategies and structured content management.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

- Global industrial manufacturing experience and knowledge.
- Experience working in Agile environments a plus.
- MBA or Master’s degree preferred.

The base pay range for this position is listed below, exclusive of fringe benefits or other compensation. If you are hired, your final base hourly rate will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, competencies, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we will also consider internal equity of our current employees. Please keep in mind that the range provided is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at or near the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.
