I have an immediate need for an in-home 8th grade math tutor in the outskirts of Dunlap down the road from the McGlothen Cemetery. The student is an 8th grader attending Sequatchie County Middle School. She needs to work with a tutor for support in math.
The family recently received a report indicating that the student has difficulties with fluency and comprehension, as well as challenges in understanding new concepts and equations in her math class, which is reflected in her grade of 50%. She struggles with foundational concepts such as fractions, multiplication, and division, and her family has noted that there are significant gaps in her knowledge. When the student becomes frustrated, she often responds with random answers and relies on guessing.
The main goals are for the student to address any gaps in her understanding, strengthen her foundational knowledge, and enhance her confidence so she can feel capable and ultimately improve her academic performance.
The family wants 1 hour sessions twice a week, between 4pm-8pm, on Monday and Thursday.
Job Requirements
- Tutor must be willing to work in person, face to face at the student's home in the outskirts of Dunlap down the road from the McGlothen Cemetery.
- Tutor must be available for 1 hour sessions twice a week, between 4pm-8pm, on Monday and Thursday.
- Minimal travel required to meet with student (you decide the distance you are willing to travel, typically 5-10 miles)
- Due to insurance requirements applicants must not be a minor.

MON & THUR 4pm-8pm
