Part-Time High School Teacher-Tutor

GradePower Learning Chesapeake is looking for an upbeat reliable, enthusiastic, dynamic part-time High School Tutor who wants to work in a rewarding teaching environment.
Candidates must possess a strong background in math (a plus if you're also comfortable with science) and must be comfortable teaching students in 9th-12th grade, at all levels.
Tutors at GradePower Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.
Position Requirements :
All Tutors at GradePower Learning work during after-school and evening hours. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.
This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. A background check is mandatory.
We encourage you to apply if you have the majority of the following requirements :
Education :
- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- Fourth year university students with tutoring experience will be considered
- Teaching certification an asset
- Strong knowledge of the current 9th to 12th grade curriculum
Experience :
- Experience teaching / tutoring math, science or English at a 9th to 12th grade (or equivalent) level
- Math instructors must have strong skills in Advanced functions, Calculus, Linear Algebra, Data Management and Trigonometry
- Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
Responsibilities (Position Details) :
You will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach with the following responsibilities :
- Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
- Teaching in-person
- Completing daily student communication updates
- Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times

Job Type : Part-time
Salary Range : $19 - $21 / hour, based on previous experience and education
Schedule :
Monday - Thursday 3 : 30pm - 7 : 00pm (flexibility dependent upon schedule)
