Now, you’re probably wondering a little more about what we are looking for, so here it is:
- Bachelor’s Degree – Required
- Master’s Degree – Preferred
- CFA – preferred. Or willingness to acquire the CFA designation
- 5 Years of Investment Management Experience – Required
- Public Company Analysis/Modeling/Valuation Experience – Required
- Prior Stock Selection and or ETF Allocation Experience – Required
- Proficient knowledge of security/asset selection and investment allocation
- Proficient knowledge of a variety of investments including stocks, bonds, ETFs and alternative assets
- Advanced knowledge of overall public company structure
- Proficient skills with investment modeling and financial analysis for investment decision making
- Advanced analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Advanced skill with company software
- Proficient ability to train others
- Proficient ability to relay and clearly communicate investment information
- Proficient ability to implement decision making authority on investment portfolios based on due diligence
- Advanced ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions
- Advanced ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form, as appropriate for the needs of the audience
- Superior ability to consider multiple perspectives, including, but not limited to, those of Financial Service Professionals and other Gradient Companies
Want some more specifics? If you join the Gradient Investments crew, here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Build and maintain portfolios by establishing investment strategies
- Develop investment policies and strategies for the portfolio (e.g. target asset mix), based on understanding of client/investor needs, return expectations, investment objectives and market and economic conditions
- Implement policies and strategies including securities research, selection and portfolio construction; direct portfolio investment and trading activity (i.e. sales and/or purchases of securities/investments) or consolidate assets on a daily basis, as appropriate
- Understand and inform constituents on market characteristics and dynamics
- Meet regularly with analysts and research partners to discuss market developments and trends
- Conduct research on investment products, companies and investment markets and write investment content with an eye towards informing others (e.g. investors, advisors, executives) on investment/company/market activities
- Relationship management with internal employees and partnering advisors
- Evaluate portfolio performance against strategy objectives and regulatory requirements
- Manage internal and external customer relationships; partner with team members to ensure and maintain positive relationship management
- Assist with cross-training for growth of team members
- Be a resource to team members to answer questions on client correspondence, processes, procedures and all other as necessary
- Provide direct correspondence and support for FSP (advisor) inquiries, including calls, emails and face-to-face; assist team members with elevated inquires
- Be involved with the ongoing marketing of the investment strategy
- All other duties as assigned
