Position Summary:
The Student Success Coordinator will work directly with at-risk students (both in person and remotely), over the phone, email, text, chat, and other social media to implement interventions intended to increase student success and lead to high school graduation.
This role must be able to work on campus in Detroit, Michigan.
Duties And Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
The Student Success Coordinator is responsible for:
- Implementing interventions to help promote credit and learning recovery, success for all students, including special education.
- Create a Student Success Plan for every student.
- Map transcripts from previous school(s).
- Schedule students courses strategically and in compliance with Michigan Department of Education curriculum and course requirements.
- Provide social/emotional support and resources to help students work through obstacles.
- Provide students with organizational tools to help them balance school, work, and life.
- Provide tutoring when needed or requested.
- Engage parents of minors to create a collaborative effort in educating students and developing success strategies and plans, including weekly communication.
- Ensure students have the tools, supplies, and support they need to maintain their goals.
- Monitor, track, and record student communications and interactions.
- Ensure the school's monthly credit earned rate averages .50 or higher.
- Manage all student/family contact efforts for school.
- Communicate student progress and needs for the school to the team and leadership.
- Assist with management of day-to-day daily school operations.
- Other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Located in Detroit, MI area and ability commute daily to Achieve-Detroit campus
- Experience building relationships with at-risk students.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Critical thinking, curiosity, and good listening skills.
- Well-developed emotional intelligence (ability to empathize/sympathize and motivate).
- Strong administrative, technology, social media, and learning management systems skills.
- Team-focused, “can-do” attitude about the achievement of goals.
- Superior organizational skills, ability to prioritize, multitask, and work independently.
- Undergraduate degree preferred.

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
