What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraprofessional for Special Education - WMS 2023-24 School Year position at Grady County Schools?

In order to apply for a paraprofessional position, you must have completed one of the following: 2 year college degree earned 100 quarter or 60 semester hours of college credit passed the Georgia Paraprofessional Assesment (this test is available at the Board of Education office - call 229-377-3701 for details) Minimum Qualifications: Hold or qualify for a GA Paraprofessional Rank I or Rank II License Physical ability to assist in transferring physically disabled students Possess good verbal and communication skills Possess integrity and high standard of ethics and confidentiality Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a diverse population Possess ability to assume responsibility for implementing teacher directed behavioral programs Model professionalism in temperament, attitude, appearance and ethics Primary Duties: Support the teacher and instruction in a Special Education Classroom or Inclusive Regular Education Environment Support student learning through a variety of support activities Support student safety through a variety of support activities Assist students in bathroom skills to include changing diapers as needed Assist students with daily hygiene needs and feeding as needed Assist with physical assistance in behavior programs as needed
