Summary
The Charge Analyst is part of a team whose primary responsibility is to improve the overall quality, compliance, and completeness of charges captured on each patient encounter. Performs detailed concurrent reviews of patient accounts by comparing the medical record documentation to determine appropriate charges. Serves as an educational resource to medical staff members and revenue cycle teams on an ongoing basis on issues related to charge capture and charge appropriateness for medical services. Works closely with medical staff and the Revenue Management department to provide accurate critical information for identification of areas needing immediate attention to expedite compliance, recommend revenue cycle process improvements, and capturing charges.

Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Nursing, Health Administration, or related area.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Health Administration, or related area Preferred
- Four (4) years of experience in patient service charging activities, which includes: collecting, organizing, analyzing, reporting, and process improvement activities.
- Patient charging experience in a specialized service area with working knowledge of medical record documentation, CPT coding, revenue coding, and charging guidelines is preferred
- Current Georgia License as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PeopleSoft and EPIC.
