The Lead Xray Tech performs total body imaging which will result in the production of quality images for diagnostic interpretation. Directs the activities of the Xray staff and students to ensure the quality of examinations performed meet the departmental standards. Optimizes patient flow and communicates with medical staff to coordinate and prioritize examinations.

The Lead Xray Tech performs total body imaging which will result in the production of quality images for diagnostic interpretation. Directs the activities of the Xray staff and students to ensure the quality of examinations performed meet the departmental standards. Optimizes patient flow and communicates with medical staff to coordinate and prioritize examinations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Graduate of JRCERT approved Radiography program.
- Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- A current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
- Ability to operate radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment.
- 2 or more years of job related experience required.
- Ensures all radiographic equipment is calibrated weekly.
- Serves as a “super user” for new/upgraded equipment.
- Performs QA on equipment and image quality.
- Trains new staff and signing off on the training.
- Communicates with O2s about staffing and scheduling procedures in the department.
- Communicates with the ECC staff about delays and addresses patients complaints and/or concerns in real time.
- Sends staff reports and delays from shift.
- Attends leadership courses provided by Grady Health System quarterly and/or as scheduled.
- Create work assignment on holidays, weekend rotation and in the absence of the Supervisor.
- Reports issues to Bio Med and Facilities in real time.
- Ensures all images are sent in Sectra and notifies Technologist in real time about missing images for reconciliation.
