SUMMARY:

The Certified Ophthalmic Technician provides a variety of eye care duties to assist the Ophthalmologist in ocular examinations and treatments. Responsibilities include performing routine vision examinations, instrument maintenance and cleaning, preparation of examination rooms, and patient education.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HS diploma or GED
  • Additional trade school or college course work in related field of study.
  • 2-3 years of ophthalmic experience required in setting with full service ophthalmic center.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Active Certification by JCAHPO is preferred.
