Architectural Designer II
About the Role: Graf Architects is looking for an energized and driven Architectural Designer with 3-5 years of experience. As an Architectural Designer, you will be working primarily on residential projects, ranging from small single family to multi-units, with responsibilities of developing projects with quality performance, coordination (in-house and externally), and scheduling representative of Graf Architects standards.

Responsibilities:
• Ensure Graf Architect’s project standards, professionalism, and creativity are conducted for all work
• Perform design layouts and features, which require researching, compiling, and recording information for assigned project work
• Draft and review existing conditions including measurements and documentation of buildings
• Create computer renderings for design development
• Process redlines on all phases of various projects
• Assist with finish selections by sourcing materials, run errands, schedules and prepare presentations
• Produce design development and construction drawings with accuracy and completeness, and work with architect(s) to ensure that drawings reflect design intent
• Create condominium documents
• Communicate and manage relationships with vendors, clients, & team consultants
• Maintain communication with Principle/Owner with Project progress
Location & Commitments: Our office is located in a stately historic building in Newburyport, MA, a vibrant waterfront community, filled with unique local shops, restaurants, theatres and walking trails. The train offers ease of connection to Boston. Any interested candidate must be within reasonable commuting distance of this location. This is a fully in-office position. Regular site visits are required.
Qualifications:
• Master of Architecture or Bachelor of Architecture from a US accredited architecture program or equivalent
• Experience working with AutoCAD, Sketchup, Revit, Microsoft Office
• 3-5 years of practical experience
• Highly organized with the ability to balance multiple projects at once
• Collaborative, team mentality and open to listening to and considering views of others
• Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
• Ability to take direction from senior staff communicate effectively
• Must take pride in producing high quality best work
• Strong attention to detail
Job Type: Full-time
Compensation: $68,000 - $78,000 per year. Pay is commensurate with experience.
