Graf Brothers Flooring, Inc. is in seeking experienced Safety Specialist. This role will focus on execution of safety assurance across all locations while partnering with labor and management to identify and eliminate potential safety hazards and to ensure adherence to safety policies, programs, and procedures.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- The Safety Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
- This role involves conducting site inspections, training employees on safety protocols, and working closely with all departments to promote a safety-conscious culture.
- Safety Program Development: Design, implement, and manage safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Site Inspections: Perform regular safety inspections to identify potential hazards, ensure adherence to safety protocols, and recommend corrective actions.
- Training & Development: Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, including new hire orientation, specific equipment training, and emergency response procedures. Conduct regular training and ensure that the following are practiced: Personal Protective Equipment, Machine Safety & Equipment usage, Lockout/Tagout, Hazardous Communication, Evacuation Drills, Fall Prevention, etc. Ensure all forklift drivers, machine operators, mechanics, and drivers are trained and licensed accordingly. Coordinate annual training for First Aid, CPR, and AED.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and near-misses, and provide detailed reports with recommendations for preventative measures. Review, monitor, and manage the Worker’s Compensation Claim process. This includes managing the early return to work and modified duty program, monitoring and analyzing accident and injury trends, performing hazard analysis; working directly with the worker’s compensation insurance carrier to investigate all reports in a timely fashion.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory bodies by staying up to date with safety standards and implementing best practices.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct hazard assessments and risk analyses to proactively address potential safety concerns.
- Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely reporting requirements with OSHA, workers compensation, and other regulatory bodies. Maintain safety records, including audits, inspections, and incident reports, ensuring documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Collaboration: Work closely with crew leaders to foster a culture of safety and collaboration across the organization.
- Emergency Response: Assist in developing and maintaining emergency response plans, including drills and procedures to ensure readiness in case of an incident.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Degree in occupational safety and health or relevant field preferred.
- Certifications and/or licenses related to safety professionals accepted.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a safety role.
