Position Goal
Responsible for overseeing and managing all service operations including customer service, scheduling, quality of repairs and customer concerns. Will be responsible for hiring, training, and budget management. Monitor departmental goals, attainment and engagement along with the overall success. Answer all customer concerns, complaints or misunderstandings with genuine concern. Adhere to and hold their team accountable for Graham Auto Repair (GAR) purpose, vision, essentials and core values.
Position Responsibilities
- Oversee all day to day operations to ensure compliance and quality standards.
- Responsible for building relationships with vendors and other local automotive businesses to grow our services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through exceptional customer service, communication and follow up.
- Follow up with customers to obtain feedback and ensure they are satisfied with our services.
- Responsible for overall cleanliness, organization and maintenance of the store. Ensure all workstations, customer areas, offices, lunchroom, restrooms and shop space are kept clean, presentable, safe and in working order. Hold each employee accountable for their and shared areas. Enforce GARs high standard.
- Monitor the facilities, grounds, shop cars and equipment. Facilitate any repair orders or corrections in a timely manner..
- Create and maintain log books (shop car maintenance, lift maintenance, fire & safety prevention, machines, shop equipment to include oil heater and bay doors, etc.)
- Serve as the leader for shop activities, ensuring work standards are defined and improved.
- Ensure all employees are complying with safety regulations PPE, and set procedures at all times.
- Schedule and conduct monthly safety meetings. Ensure all employees are completing annual training.
- Monitor training needs/requirements for the team and coordinate training as required. Utilize ATI Overdrive, iTAC apprenticeship program, ASE and other training courses for individual growth and team growth.
- Meet with direct reports on a regular basis (weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.) to communicate company information including new initiatives, financial performance, goals and objectives, benchmarks and best practices.
- Responsible for overseeing regularly scheduled one on one developmental meetings to facilitate their professional development for all positions.
- Responsible to lead, coach and develop staff in compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Manage and resolve customer concerns and complaints with professionalism.
- Collaborate with service advisors to optimize workflow to achieve goals.
- Supervise performance of service advisors and technicians to ensure efficient performance.
- Review all calls, estimates, and R/O’s for compliance and accuracy.
- Collaborate with the Production Manager to assign repairs in accordance with their skills.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and increase sales by implementing all marketing programs, ensure all employees are trained and follow all company procedures.
- Monitor and report on key performance metrics, such as customer satisfaction, sales, and profitability.
- Participate in interviews, selection, training and evaluation of store personnel. Hire and maintain the most qualified candidates that meet the requirements of the appropriate job description that will align with our culture.
- Preparing an annual operating budget. Manage and control costs.
- Maintain an accurate record of all accounts and relevant financial information.
- Accurately track services, repairs and inventory.
- Order parts and supplies as needed and troubleshoot any part issues or delays.
- Serve as a backup to advisors.
- Attend workshops and study relevant publications to stay up-to-date with developments in the automotive service industry.
- Keep a professional appearance.
- Attend weekly team meetings (Wednesday)
- Must take 2 ASE tests per year until G1 and C1 are obtained.
- Must complete 40 hours of additional training per year.
- Complete 1 hour of ATI Overdrive training per week until its completion.
- Assist with special projects and duties as assigned.
Position Requirements and Qualifications
- 3 years of prior management experience required; 5 years preferred.
- 1 year prior experience in sales required.
- Corporate experience preferred.
- Previous automotive experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record is required.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Above average computer skills.
- Superior attention to detail.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Able to work under pressure and strict deadlines.
- Must be able to work independently without supervision in a self-motivated and trustworthy capacity.
- Must have organizational and problem solving skills.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
- Must be able to obtain at least one ASE certification within one year.
- Must be able to travel.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery. Occasionally ascends/descends stairs. Will frequently communicate both verbally and electronically. Occasionally will move/lift items up to 30 lbs. Primarily will work indoors but maybe be exposed to outside weather conditions and shop noise.
Salary : $70 - $90
