A day in the life of a field engineer at Graham: This is a position that plays an important role in our construction projects. Based on a construction project site, they assist through the all life-cycles of a project by supporting and learning from field leaders. They help encourage and drive our safety culture.
JOB TITLE: Field Engineer
REPORTS TO: Field Resource Leader
PURPOSE: The purpose of this job project is to learn the fundamentals of building and assist the project team to ensure quality work is performed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
JOB DUTIES:
- Work with superintendent and foreman to learn building fundamentals and codes
- Aid superintendent and project manager with project budgeting, bidding, buyouts, procurement log, RFIs, and certifications of occupancies
- Provides input in Pre and 1st Installation Verification meetings with trade partners
- Complete procurement log and submittals in a timely manner
- Ensure equipment and material arrive at the jobsite per schedule
- Promote, enforce, and train trade partners on Graham’s safety policies
- Conducts safety walks and reports
- Works closely with Superintendent and Project Manager to learn labor and material reports and able to accurately analyze the available money and manpower for specific work activities
- Utilize Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Projects, and Outlook
- Follow Graham Core Process, including jobsite checklists
- Maintain great relationships with owners/clients, architects, trade partners, and other industry representatives
- All other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management/related degree (preferred), associate’s degree in construction management or equivalent field experience
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- Extremely detail-oriented
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to work nights and weekends as necessary
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass physical capacity profile
- Must be able to navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather.
- Ability to take and pass OSHA 30 certification
- Ability to work within one of Graham Construction’s operational areas as assigned
Note - This will be an in-field Eastern Nebraska position, not an office position.
