Summary:
The Engineering Intern helps provide assistance to the engineering department by developing processes, work instructions, test specifications, BOMs, and drawings. The Engineering Intern will work closely with the engineering team to help support the needs of the department.
Job Duties:
- Plays an active role in product design/development including review of technical details, design for manufacture (cost effective and manufacturing process compliant) and design for test (efficient manufacturing test ensuring product quality).
- Work output is directed by senior engineers.
- Takes direction from Senior Engineer, Engineering Supervisor and/or Directors of Engineering.
- Engage in product requirements definition and reviews.
- Participate as reviewer in the design review process.
- Identify, review and develop product improvements.
- Identify, review and implement development process improvements.
- Initiate interdepartmental communication.
- Take part in sales proposal, service, or project process.
- Works in a team environment
Education and Experience Required:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous work in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of fabrication, machining, welding, inspection, and measurement techniques
- Working knowledge of Inventor 3-D modelling software
- Working knowledge of GD&T
Other:
- Must be willing to work overtime as required
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must have proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, project management, enterprise resource planning, database, and specialized engineering application software.
