The purpose of this position is to provide quality instruction in health and physical education, and manage a comprehensive basketball program. The ideal candidate will pay a crucial role in promoting healthy lifestyles, physical fitness, and overall well-being among our students. Work is performed under the supervision of the principal. |
Duties and Responsibilities |
PE Responsibilities: -Develops lesson plans, teaching classes and skills for physical activity. -Helps students develop life skills and promote physical fitness. -Creates a positive learning environment, teamwork, sportsmanship, and community activities. -Establishes the role of physical activity director, guiding students, and celebrating accomplishments, and ensuring safety in a dynamic physical environment. -Collaborates with colleagues to enhance the school's physical education program. -Creates a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement, participation, and personal growth. -Performs other related duties as assigned.
Girls-Varsity Basketball Head Coach Responsibilities: -Develops and manages a comprehensive basketball program that promotes teamwork, discipline, personal growth, and athletic achievement. The coach will foster a positive and inclusive environment while teaching fundamental skills. -Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
• Ability to communicate clearly in written and electronic formats; as well as in-person. • Ability to use a computer or other electronic devices for the purpose of communication, instruction, data recording, and location of information. • Ability to collaborate with district staff to identify and solve problems. • Ability to demonstrate patience and compassion when dealing with students and/or parents and their personal and educational needs. • Skill in identifying student learning and personal needs and collaborating with other professionals to provide needed resources or interventions. |
Education and Experience Requirements |
Applicants must hold or be eligible to hold a current NC Teaching Certification in Physical Education. |
Salary |
State Salary Schedule with local stipends. |
