Nature of Work
The Middle School Boys and Girls Track Coach is responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive track and field program that promotes teamwork, discipline, personal growth, and athletic achievement. The coach will foster a positive and inclusive environment while teaching fundamental skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise track program and team.
- Ensure student athletes meet eligibility rules.
- See that district policies are observed during all activities.
- Plan, organize, and conduct daily practices to improve individual and team performance.
- Teach proper techniques for track events such as sprints, distance running, relays, hurdles, jumps, and throws.
- Develop conditioning programs enhancing athlete's speed, endurance, and strength.
- Promote good sportsmanship, self-discipline, and respect among athletes.
- Collaborate with the Athletic Director to create a season schedule, including practices, meets, and events.
- Maintain and inventory equipment and uniforms, requesting replacements as needed.
- Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and school administration regarding schedules, expectations, and student progress.
- Manage transportation arrangements for away meets.
