On-call Juvenile Detention Officer

Position type: On call

Salary: $21.18/Hourly

Location: Graham County Juvenile Detention

Description of responsibilities:

• Maintains the care and custody of juveniles being transported to and from the juvenile detention facility in another county.
• Transports juveniles to and from facilities and medical treatments and placements as necessary.
• Supervises juveniles during other activities.
• Assists in the facilitation of specific programs.
• Performs frisk, strip, and area searches as necessary.
• Operates law enforcement radio communications systems.
• Types reports and maintains other records related to the transport of juveniles.
• Performs other duties as required.

Required experience: The ideal candidate will have prior experience in security, detention, law, or regulatory enforcement. Preference will also be given to applicants with First Aid/CPR Training and who are bilingual in English and Spanish.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and any combination of education, professional training or work experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position; possession of a valid Arizona driver’s license, with a history of safe driving and the ability to maintain a safe driving record; willingness to reside in Graham County upon appointment; must successfully complete sixteen hours of Detention Training within one year of appointment.
