Department: Nursing Admin Type: Full-Time Shift: 1st Shift Hours: 80-FT; 1st Shift; 9:00am-6:00pm varied; M-F varied; call required 1 week per month

The Director of the Emergency Department is accountable for: the management of Emergency nursing practice and patient care delivery on a 24-hour basis; management, fiscal and other resources; the development of personnel; compliance with the regulatory and professional standards, strategic planning, and the fostering of interdisciplinary collaborative relationships within the Emergency Department and the health system as a whole. The Director will coordinate all day to day interaction/communication of ED Physician, APRN’s, and PA’s with both ED staff and Health System leadership. Reports to the Vice President of Nursing/CNE or her/his designee.
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, BSN or equivalent in education and/or experience
3-5 years experience in Critical Care or Emergency clinical nursing and nursing management
Current Illinois registered nurse licensure
Maintain 20 hours continuing education every 2 years to maintain current registered nurse license.
BLS certification through AHA required.
PALS certification through AHA required within 1st year.
ACLS Certification is required within first year
ATLS, TNS, TNCC preferred or willingness to obtain
Director positions range between $55,000 - $150,000 annual salary. All wages are determined by experience and skills; wage information will be discussed further upon interview selection.
