This position is responsible for the daily work schedule for a group of Physician/PA/NP’s by greeting patients, answering phones, verifying patient information, scheduling appointments, securing required signatures, scanning documentation into the electronic health record, reviewing account balances and collecting co pays and payments on account. The applicant must be able to work cohesively as a member of a Patient Care Team while supporting the vision and values of our organization. Applicant must exhibit excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to use good judgment regarding confidential information. This position provides backup coverage to our switchboard and scheduling department. This position reports to the Patient Access Team Lead and Director.
High School graduate or equivalent with knowledge of medical terminology
2 Years previous work experience in a medical facility preferred
Computer experience with accurate typing skills
Ability to remain calm and professional in emergency situations
Demonstrates clear and articulate speaking voice
Demonstrates excellent customer service and communication skills
Personality and demeanor to deal with the public and assist ill, older, or distraught patients
