The telemetry technician is responsible for assisting with the maintenance of the operations that pertain to holter and event monitors. Their workflow and fulfillment of this role will result in the effective and efficient performance of holter/event monitoring from receipt of the order, through final reporting of the study. They will perform holter monitoring on patients, to record and analyze (when applicable) variations in heart muscle electrical activity, maintaining reports and records of procedures for diagnostic studies, as well as perform lab assistant duties in the instance of being cross-trained to do so. The technician ensures provision of services in collaboration with the referring physician, and in accordance with the objectives and policies of Graham Health System and the Cardiopulmonary Rehab Department. He/she reports directly to the Director of Cardiopulmonary Rehab and Wellness.
High School graduate with classes in chemistry, biology and algebra preferred, with Associate Degree encouraged
2 years of telemetry experience preferred
Cardiac Rhythm Monitoring Certification (CRAT) preferred, or willing to obtain BLS certification through AHA
Knowledge with interpretation of basic cardiac arrhythmias and medical terminology
