Title: Strength and Conditioning Coach

the duties required by the supervisor, appointing authority, or designee.
l. Qualifications
- Preferred Applicant holds the following: Coaching experience and hold one of the following certifications: CSCS from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), or SCCC from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), or USA Weightlifting (USAW) level 1 or Sports Performance Coach
- Demonstrate high moral character and integrity as a proper role model for the students and the community
- Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, community members, coaches, and school officials
- Ability to organize, supervise, and give direction to weightlifting student-athletes
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of strength training and cardiovascular exercise
- Demonstrate an understanding of weight training and cardiovascular equipment
- Ability to create/modify an exercise program
- Knowledge of the technical and fundamental aspects of the assigned weight training and conditioning
- Commitment and willingness to continue to learn and examine new ideas pertinent to the assigned weight training and conditioning.
- Working knowledge of rules and regulations established by the league, the school, the Ohio High School Athletic Association, and the Board of Education
- Hold a valid and proper licensure and certification(s) defined in accordance with the Ohio Department of Education, the Ohio High School Athletic Association, and the Graham Local School District
- Have an acceptable BCII report and FBI report
- Ability to meet all job expectations and objectives

All student-athletes under strength & conditioning and/or weight room supervision or with the program, and staff/assistant related to the program

IV: Job Goals
- Plan, operate, and manage the Weight Room Facility and supervising staff. The supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the facility and weight and conditioning program, which includes student wellness, and athletic team strength and conditioning for all athletes
- Maintain safety and organization of the weight room, locker rooms, and building/grounds
- Organize and administer all matters pertaining to the Weight Room and the facility
- Instruct student athletes in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success
- Create sport specific training for specific sports and specific student-athletes
- Further the mission and vision of the athletic department and school district
- Performance Responsibilities
- To provide a workout program as requested for individual coaches for their teams in a timely manner. Oversee the different training programs.
- Maintain a clean and orderly Weight Room to provide a safe environment.
- To instruct student-athletes in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.
- To maintain an attendance record of students using the Weight Room.
- Set and enforce the rules and regulations of the Weight Room.
- Maintain all equipment doing repairs and maintenance when possible and writing work orders when needed.
- Coordinate with the Athletic Department on the up-keep of the equipment and room.
- Consult with the trainer on rehabilitation training for injured student-athletes.
- Is responsible for enforcing the Code of Conduct governing students in his/her direct charge and for assuming authority, as warranted.
- Establishes good relationships with students, parents and staff members in order to build partnerships to support student growth.
- Is responsible for discharging school-related duties during their supervision of students.
- Take all reasonable measures to assure student health and safety, being alert to unusual mental or physical condition of students and refers these to the appropriate personnel (principal, AD, trainer, and/or parents.)
- Participates in district or building level committees and parent activities.
- Conducts conferences with individual students and/or parents when deemed necessary or upon request.
- Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations and Board Policy.
- Ensure all students are supervised by individuals that have completed the proper forms and background check(s) as it relates to the Board policy for volunteers.
- Demonstrates professionalism, exhibits a professional attitude, and models appropriate behavior.
- Upholds district policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
- Additional working conditions may include
- Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.
- Occasional operation of a vehicle under inclement weather conditions.
- Occasional interaction with unruly people.
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull various items up to a maximum of 40 pounds (100 pounds on wheels), e.g., paper boxes, deliveries of supplies and equipment.
- Frequent requirement to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, read, speak, reach, stretch with hands and arms, crouch, kneel, climb, and stoop.
- Travels to meetings and work assignments.
