Job Overview :
Graham Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mainframe Systems Analyst with extensive expertise in Assembler, FOCUS, and REXX. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of mainframe environments and tools and be able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to analyze and document functionality and logic within legacy code.
You will be happy to know that this is a remote position. We prefer candidates based in Dayton, OH, or the DC area. Occasional travel may be required for team meetings and training.
Responsibilities :
- Leverage at least 10 years of experience in mainframe programming, including proficiency with Assembler, REXX, FOCUS, COBOL, JCL, and related platforms, while demonstrating adaptability to modern technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, document functionality, and translate legacy code and business logic into actionable documentation.
- Apply knowledge of mainframe best practices while working with tools such as Control-M or equivalent.
- Contribute to modernization initiatives by migrating legacy applications to modern platforms and employing integration techniques such as APIs, web services, and microservices.
- Provide accurate effort and complexity estimates for user stories and tasks during sprint planning.
- Support project-based environments by utilizing effective project management practices, including schedule management, status reporting, and communication of project risks and issues.
- Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and develop internal documentation and training materials.
