Position Summary:
The Hostess/Host is the initial contact with the guests and must provide a warm welcome and provide excellent customer service to set the tone of the guest experience. The Hostess/Host will greet, seat, page guests & answer the phone in a professional manner. The Hostess/Host assumes the role of tour guide & communicator.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide a guest experience from when they walk in; including opening doors and greeting guests.
- Always provide a warm welcome and thank guests when they leave.
- Answer questions accurately and politely via in person, electronic communication or over the phone.
- Maintain a clean and organized waiting area.
- Assist guests in making, editing or moving reservations and always confirm reservations.
- Direct guests to sitting area & restrooms.
- Follow restaurant’s sequence of seating and service.
- Assist servers, bussers and managers as requested.
- Perform opening, closing & side duties; including but not limited to cleaning glass, polishing brass, sweeping & vacuuming the floor, wiping menus, restroom maintenance, etc.
- Engage the guest to ensure complete satisfaction of every guest and communicate issues immediately to management.
- Create memorable experiences by observing opportunities and anticipating guests needs.
- Employees must always be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees.
- Perform any additional duties requested by a manager.

- Must be able to work in outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind with minimal ventilation and small/enclosed space.

- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill required tasks.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and co-workers.
- Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near and color vision and depth perception.
- Requires manual and finger dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
Education
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in fine dining establishment.
- High school or equivalent education required.
Licenses or Certificates
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits must be “ServSafe Certified” by the State of Florida.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
