Grain Processing Corporation (GPC), a member of the KENT® Corporation family of companies, has a great opportunity to join their prosperous team as a Sales Executive in Muscatine, Iowa. As a leading producer of pure alcohol, maltodextrins, starches, and co-products for the animal nutrition industry, this pivotal role will be responsible for the marketing, sales, and technical support of GPC products assigned to the Industrial Products Sales group that primarily supports the paper and corrugating industries.
- This position is designed and intended to be performed in Muscatine, Iowa
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Market and sell Industrial Starch products, primarily in the paper and corrugating industries
- Develop, manage, and maintain business-critical Industrial Starch customer relationships
- Report on customer and competitor activities, new applications, industry developments, and market trends
- Utilize and maintain the Company's CRM to track and document leads, opportunities, and customer interactions
- Assist customers with technical formulas and problem solving for corrugating, paper, and other binding and coating applications
- Provide high-level service to customers by working cross-functionally with internal departments, to include Procurement, Operations, Research & Development, and other partners
- Drive efforts to locate, develop and close new business opportunities within the industrial starch industry
- Identify key accounts, both current and potential, and develop strategy to maintain and build business at these accounts
- Maintain memberships for trade associations and participate in their activities
- Develop and maintain a high degree of product and market knowledge
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a relative field of study.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum two years of technical or specialty sales experience
- Experience with wet milling, papermaking, corrugating or related starch industry preferred

TRAVEL
- Travel is varied but required (30%-60%) as needed to successfully conduct the affairs of the position. Can include day trips as well as overnight travel for meeting with current and prospective customers, business meetings, training, seminars, conferences, and tradeshows.
