A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A GRAIN ELEVATOR MILLWRIGHT - GENERAL LABORER
In this entry-level skilled labor position, you are a talented jack of all trades who is vital to the success of our company! Each day, you complete a variety of important tasks, including erecting grain bins, relining spouts, installing spouts, repairing augers, and relocating equipment. You also install, maintain, and repair grain handling equipment. An efficient critical thinker, you quickly set up and repair grain conveyors as well as install bearings, pulleys, and motors.
Eager to grow your talents, you learn new welding techniques and competently help your crew with any custom fabrication needed to complete your projects. You regularly work on scaffolding and grain-handling structures, always keeping safety at the forefront. A team player, you jump right in and perform any general labor tasks that arise. This entry-level skilled labor position works Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, April through November, and 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, December through March with a weekend on-call schedule during harvest time. We are closed between Christmas and New Year's Day! All job sites are typically within a 50-mile radius of Stromsburg.
