What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood Teacher position at Grain Valley Early Childhood Center?
The qualified candidate will be a support to students with developmental delays who may or may not have verbal communication skills. The students within the program may require intensive direct language instruction as a form of enhancing the student’s vocabulary and building communication skills, as well as developing a method to support appropriate behavioral interactions.
Teachers in the ECSE program have the specific responsibility for developing student's success in early literary language, social and emotional development, fine and gross motor skills, and early mathematics; supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas; developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with other teachers, other professional staff, screening and assessment of students; and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues; and responding to a wide range of inquiries from students' parents or guardians regarding the instructional program and student progress. In addition, some students may have physical needs, cognitive impairments, severe behavioral issues, or significant health concerns.
