Compensation

The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $145,700.00  to $242,800.00.  This position is eligible for participation in our short-term incentive program in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan.

The range provided is not a guarantee of compensation.  The range reflects the potential base pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual base pay compensation will depend, in part, on factors such as geographic work location and relevant experience and skills.  The anticipated compensation range described above is subject to change and the compensation ultimately paid may be higher or lower than the range described above.

Position Details

Key financial leadership role in Investor Relations supporting the CEO and CFO with investor messaging, quarterly earnings calls and insights from the investment community. The primary responsibility of this role is to evolve the strategic direction of the IR function to become a more analytical, data-driven team that leverages external knowledge to impact business direction. Opportunities include optimizing the investor outreach plan, improving strategic and financial messaging and conducting investor perception studies to understand the effectiveness of Grainger's communication of strategy and financials. You will report to the Vice President, Investor Relations.

You Will

  • Design and implement messaging strategies for financial, strategic and reputational programs and challenges, including :

C-Suite messaging and materials development for quarterly earnings calls and other IR-related communications

  • Presentation materials and messaging for various IR matters
  • Investor perception studies to provide further insight into external messaging
  • Serve as key point of contact for investors and analysts to articulate company strategy, explain financial results and address questions
  • Partner with business and finance leaders to ensure holistic and accurate external messaging of current and go-forward financial performance
  • Develop an investor targeting plan that aligns with Grainger's objectives to maintain and grow our current shareholder base, while also attracting new investors. Utilize C-suite time effectively
  • Build and maintain an investment model to understand how guidance and other company commentary might be synthesized by external audiences.
  • Drive continuous improvement by automating, refining, and implementing processes and deliverables
  • Interface and story-tell to senior management
  • Stay up to date on competitive landscape, industry developments and macro-economic trends
  • You Have

  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in Finance, Accounting or Economics Required
  • Master's Degree (MBA) Preferred
  • 8 years professional experience
  • Knowledge of investor relations would be a plus
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Executive level presence
  • Strong story-telling capabilities with ability to synthesize complex information to the most salient and digestible takeaways
  • Immense personal initiative is required to anticipate requests before they are received
  • Experience working within a public company highly preferred.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of detailed work with conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment
