Job Summary The Assistant Football Coach/Safeties is responsible for assisting the Head Football Coach. This position must adhere to all safety standards, ensure the well-being of student-athletes and support their academic success. This position will have direct involvement with all administrative and organizational aspects of the assigned position under the supervision of the Head Football Coach, Job Duties & Responsibilities Assist the head coach in administering a highly competitive Division I Football ProgramKeep abreast of changing rules, techniques, technologies, and philosophies relevant to their sportAssist with instructing individuals or groups on sports rules, game strategies, and performanceEvaluate and recruit qualified student-athletesDevelop techniques for all safeties positionCommits to and is responsible for adhering to all rules and regulations set forth for the team, the University, the SWAC and the NCAA with the utmost integrityWork cooperatively with personnel in the athletics department, always present the University positively when interacting with the community, alumni, high school and AAU coaches, media and general publicAssist with scheduling of community service eventsPerform other duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach Qualifications Minimum:Bachelor's degreeTwo to five years experience in coaching on the high school or intercollegiate levelEffective written/oral communicationAbility to work effectively with all collegiate personnel, students, alumni and communitySound judgement and maturityMust be knowledgeable of NCAA rules and regulationsPreferred:Master's degreePrevious experience in intercollegiate athletics Supplemental Information Applications without the following will not be considered complete.Cover LetterResumeTranscript(s) if applicableCurriculum Vitae if applicable Review of applications will begin January 29th, 2024 and continue until position is filled.
