Medication Specialist Job Description
The Granada House Medication Specialist will have at least a high school diploma or GED.
Candidate will have experience in, knowledge of or aptitude for:
1) SUD treatment and recovery,
2) communications with prescribers, managers, and staff,
3) maintenance and review of documentation, logs, policies
4) Interpretation of organization medication management policies
The position requires the Candidate to manage and organize a daily and weekly task list / workload with a high attention to detail.
Specific Duties:
- Observing & Supporting residents to take medications as prescribed.
- Refer residents & interface with prescribers regarding medication issues
- Assist & Counsel Residents regarding refills and interface with pharmacies
- Systematically monitor medication adherence across program residents
- Prepare and communicate required reporting to management and agency on a regular and per incident basis.
- Maintain Medication Administration Records and other Resident Medication Recordkeeping.
- Ensuring proper storage is maintained, including medication cabinets / lockers and refrigerator (recording temps daily). Maintain Medication Management area & supplies including facility stores of Narcan.
- Implementing system of release of medications upon discharge, and / or destruction of abandoned medication and documentation thereof.
- Assisting in orientation and training for Residents and Staff on Medication Management Policies and periodic Narcan training.
Other Duties:
Candidate will perform such Recovery Specialist duties as needed, and any other duties as assigned by management, including case management functions as directed.
Supervision by Program Director monthly; Staff Meeting Attendance weekly
Salary Range: $24.00/hr
