What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Paraprofessional position at Grand Blanc Community Schools?
- Must possess Associates Degree, have 2 years of higher education (minimum) or ETS Parapro Assessment Test (passing score of 460 is required)
- Comfortable and confident with special needs students
- Capable of one-on-one assignment with special needs student
- Physical stamina to assist motor/physical/emotional needs of student, including toileting if necessary
- Tolerance for difference in student's learning styles and rates
- Model a respect for learning
- Flexibility in work assignment(s)
- Good oral and written language skills
- Demonstrated ability in interpersonal skills
- Innate sense and acceptance of student needs and individualities
- Ability to accept direction from certified staff and administration
- Respectful and compliant with confidentiality
- Prefer additional training or work experience
