What are the responsibilities and job description for the DPS Crew Member position at Grand Blanc Township?
The seasonal crew member will be supervised by the Assistant DPW Director. The position completes a variety of tasks associated with day-to-day maintenance of Township properties.
Responsibilities include by are not limited to:
- Completing a variety of public works tasks associated with the day-to-day maintenance of Township properties, infrastructure, and facilities.
- Water stop box locating, water mainline valve exercising, sewer manhole locating and inspecting, sewer cleaning, sewer televising, infrastructure repair, building and grounds maintenance.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Applicant/Requirement Skills:
- High School Diploma, or equivalent.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within the parameters of instructions given.
- Must have experience operating pickup trucks, hand tools, power tools, shovels, and rakes and must possess friendly, courteous, and cooperative customer service skills.
- Successfully pass pre-employment drug testing and a background check.
- Possess and maintain a valid Michigan Driver’s license.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Wear prescribed uniform, identification, and PPE.
Physical Demands:
- Employee must possess the physical requirements to perform the activities listed above.
- Employee must be physically able to stand, walk, and/or sit for a period of time.
- Employee must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. comfortably.
Salary : $16 - $18
