What are the responsibilities and job description for the Swim Instructor position at Grand Blanc Township?
- Provide competent, safe instruction using recognized lead-up skills as established by the American Red Cross.
- Plan and effectively organize class time for maximum practice. This is accomplished through weekly lesson plans.
- Teach with encouragement and positive reinforcement.
- Provide for consistency in instruction by working each assigned period.
- Facilitate the certification process with the aquatics supervisor.
- Promote good public relations by talking with parents before and after class, not during.
- Turn in required paperwork.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Be a capable swimmer.
- Current American Red Cross Lifeguard.
- Hold current certifications in adult, child, and infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation and training in 2-person and resuscitation barriers.
- Be dressed in suitable swimming attire.
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug testing and criminal background check.
Work Environment:
While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to water, heat and humidity (non-weather). Noise level is usually moderate.
