Grand Canyon University is seeking multiple servers for our two state of the art restaurants Havoc House and Canyon 49. Schedule: Must be able to work evenings and weekends. What you will do: Welcome and greet guests and inform guests of specials and menu changes. Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy. Up-sell food and beverage items using suggestive selling techniques and be able to answer questions regarding regions where food products come from how food is prepared. Staying updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items…etc. Maintaining proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses. Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in POS system which relays orders to kitchen and bar and properly open and pour wine at the tableside. Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor. What you need: High school diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of 6 months’ experience as server. Must be able to obtain Maricopa Food Handler’s Card before employment. Basic knowledge of food presentation, preparation and handling. Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently. Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a POS system. Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress. Able to work well independently with little supervision Ability to learn the structure and function of all clubhouse and golf course. Ability to follow all OSHA and food handling procedures and be able to use fire extinguishers and any other emergency equipment needed to ensure personal and guest safety. Job Requirements: Must be able to have flexible schedule, evenings, weekends and holidays if needed. Must have work authorization documents for United States. Must be fluent in English, ability to read and write.
