Title: Vice President - Data Services
Location: Boston, MA (Seaport area)
Onsite Requirements: Hybrid (3x/week in office)
GCC’s Data Services team is in search for a leader who will be responsible for leading a team of ETL Developers, Data Quality Assurance testers & Data Operations personnel. This role will also own the vision & architecture of our overall data management to ensure GCC stays ahead on the technology curve, conscientious to our future advanced analytics needs. This role will work closely with Business Intelligence, Analytics, Marketing Operations, & Web Software Engineering, advising & driving how to best support data management needs of future initiatives and enhancements.
This role will be responsible for continued maintenance of our existing Oracle environment, continued transition from on-premise (Oracle) to cloud environment (Snowflake), and ongoing support of pipelines supporting data integration and business operations. This role will also work to further automate key processes, ensuring our ability to scale our resources to building business driving activities over more generic tasks. It requires hands-on knowledge in Data Architecture, Data Pipeline development, DataOps, & understanding of the data needs/challenges faced by downstream stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Effectively lead a team of ETL developers, Data Quality testers & DataOps personnel
Product ownership for data warehouse functional area
Budget & Finance management for the data engineering team
Effective performance management of direct & indirect reports
Work with project manager to draft sprint requirements to support agile ceremonies
Raise material data quality issues with clear actions to resolve
Effectively manage a framework of data accuracy monitoring rules
Architecture/design guidance & review for data integration solutions
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in a relevant quantitative discipline.
5 years of experience in building & leading small to medium technology teams (15 resources)
Strong upward communication & stakeholder management skills
10 years of data warehousing experience.
8 years of hands-on experience in Data Architecture, Data Modelling, ETL &/or Data Quality
5 years working with one of the major cloud data warehouse providers (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar).
5 years working in Agile environment
Strongly Preferred
8 years of advanced SQL experience, exposure to dbt or a similar templating framework
3 years with at least one of the major cloud providers (Azure preferred)
