What are the responsibilities and job description for the Weekend RN Supervisor position at Grand Cove Nursing & Rehabilitation Center?
The Nursing Supervisor works with the Nursing Staff of the facility. He/She plans, organizes, coordinates and directs the nursing functions for the professional and non-professional nursing personnel to ensure the highest quality of care is provided in a cost effective manner with the residents in the facility. This is done in an efficient and timely manner with consideration for both health care and legal responsibilities of the resident, the facility and the employees. The Supervisors’ role within the chain of command is to act as a resource person, providing the necessary information and assistance to the staff which will enable them to perform their duties and responsibilities in the best manner possible. The Supervisor serves as a primary communication link among shifts and units.
Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing staff during weekend shifts, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to protocols.
- Manage patient assessments, IV insertions, and catheterizations as needed.
- Oversee the documentation of patient records in EHR systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Provide guidance and support to nursing staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Ensure proper management of critical care situations and assist in emergency interventions as required.
- Conduct regular evaluations of patient care practices and implement improvements as necessary.
Qualifications
- Valid RN License
- Proven experience in nurse management and supervising staff
- Proficiency in patient care, including IV insertion and catheterization
- Familiarity with EHR systems, particularly PCC
- Critical care and long-term care experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of physiology and basic life support
- Ability to manage teams effectively and ensure high-quality patient outcomes
