Experienced Cherry Picker Operator

This role requires experience operating a Cherry Picker. You also must be ok with heights because you'll be going up into the air with the load and manually moving products onto and off the lift.

Our Cherry Pickers are responsible for assisting material handlers in moving inventory in and out of bin locations while properly documenting all inventory movements. You'll work in a team environment to meet overall Distribution Center production goals and objectives. Cherry Pickers also assist with cleanliness throughout the Distribution Center and ensure a safe working environment.

Primary Functions:

• Performs picking and put away processes at elevated heights (20’ – 40’).
• Performs the picking and pulling for delivery and customer pick up areas.
• Meets or exceeds performance standards determined for each of the functions with assigned duties.
• Practices safe and secure material handling methods and distributes merchandise properly in accordance with product handling standards and to utilize the maximum amount of space and avoid damages.
• Reports errors to supervisor.
• Completes all documentation neatly and accurately using RF equipment.
• Stamps merchandise.
• Operates manual and mechanical equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Utilizes Distribution Center Management System.
• Completes yearly scheduled safety and procedure training.
• Maintain a safe work environment, including performing job functions in a safe manner, daily inspections of equipment, and maintaining good housekeeping practices.

• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Distribution Center Management System (GERS).

Qualifications

Required Experience:

• 3 – 5 years lift driver experience.
• Must be able to become certified in order to efficiently and safely operate a forklift within the time frame specified by management.

Education:

• High School diploma or GED

• Ability to pass a lift assessment with push/pull of 250 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to physically move furniture/merchandise utilizing hand truck as necessary.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment (i.e. stock picker, etc.).
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work overtime, working overtime is sometimes required.
• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts or to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $16.50 per hour
