As a Transportation Manager, you will oversee the operations of the Transportation Department, ensuring exceptional hospitality and efficient transportation services. Your role will focus on maintaining a high standard of customer service while optimizing transportation operations, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and fostering a positive team environment. You will be responsible for managing vehicle maintenance, driver training, scheduling, and financial oversight to enhance guest experiences and department efficiency.

As a Transportation Manager, you will oversee the operations of the Transportation Department, ensuring exceptional hospitality and efficient transportation services. Your role will focus on maintaining a high standard of customer service while optimizing transportation operations, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and fostering a positive team environment. You will be responsible for managing vehicle maintenance, driver training, scheduling, and financial oversight to enhance guest experiences and department efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Compliance & Safety: Oversee DOT yearly inspections and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Maintain accurate documentation for permits, licenses, background checks, fingerprinting, and physicals for all drivers.
- Fleet Management: Ensure hotel vehicles are properly maintained with thorough recordkeeping of repairs and inspections. Conduct bi-annual fleet reviews, recommend necessary vehicle purchases, obtain quotes, and manage trade-in options.
- Training & Development: Implement structured training programs for new and existing employees, covering DOT regulations, customer service expectations, and safe driving practices. Ensure adherence to Marriott Autograph Collection brand standards.
- Reservations & Scheduling: Manage transportation reservations and optimize scheduling to maximize efficiency and revenue. Work with group meeting planners to promote transportation services and secure bookings.
- Leadership & Team Support: Provide clear direction and guidance to the Transportation and Guest Services team. Foster a motivated and high-performing work environment, supporting professional development and reinforcing company values.
- Manager on Duty: Step into the Manager on Duty role as needed, overseeing daily operations, addressing guest concerns promptly, and ensuring service excellence.
- Financial Oversight: Manage budgeting, forecasting, and P&L analysis to control departmental expenses and drive revenue growth while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Performance Management: Implement effective scheduling, monitor staff performance, uphold operational standards, conduct performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback.
- Technology Utilization: Leverage hotel management systems and software applications to streamline operations, track reservations, monitor fleet maintenance, and enhance service delivery.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with associates, guests, and external vendors to ensure seamless coordination, high-quality service, and a collaborative work culture.
