Job Summary
The Laboratory Technical Supervisor will oversee and review the calibration, quality control, and quality assurance of all laboratory testing.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions
- Review, adjust and sign off to quality control monthly, or as needed
- Maintain procedure manuals, write new procedures as needed and ensure staff training on all procedures annually
- Enroll in proficiency testing for all analytes as prescribed by CLIA. Ensure proficiency testing is completed by rotation of all testing personnel. Submit and review proficiency testing results.
- Oversee the choice and implementation of new methodologies
- Implement new quality assurance and improvement policies as needed
- Coordinate with Laboratory Director to review proficiency testing, quality assurance and overall lab direction
- Notifies appropriate party of critical lab values and documents in EMR.
- Manage CLIA requirements and prepare for inspection
- Complete timely laboratory reviews and verifications as needed
- Manage maintenance logs
- Maintains safety measures in accordance with OSHA regulations and safety regulations for laboratories.
- Maintains strictest of patient confidentiality by following HIPAA guidelines.
- Navigate various computer systems to locate, record, and maintain critical information.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy

Required Skills/Abilities
· In-depth knowledge of laboratory principles, practices, and instrumentation.
· Strong understanding of regulatory standards and accreditation requirements (e.g., CLIA, CAP, COLA).
· Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
· Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science (MT/MLS), or equivalent, with certification from American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) required.
- Familiarity with computer applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications.
Physical Demands
· Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
· Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate laboratory equipment.
