Job Summary:
As the Radiology Department Manager at Grand Island Clinic, you will oversee all operations within the radiology department, including managing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging services. This position requires strong leadership, operational oversight, and technical expertise. Experience in mammography and CT imaging is highly preferred. You will be responsible for supervising radiology staff, maintaining regulatory compliance, operations, quality, safety and optimizing departmental processes.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, training, and performance evaluations for radiology department staff.
- Ensure departmental coverage by scheduling shifts and managing staff workloads.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Essential Job Functions:
- Oversee daily operations of the radiology department, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards, including OSHA, ACR, and FDA.
- Monitor the performance of imaging equipment and coordinate repairs or replacements as necessary.
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of diagnostic imaging services.
- Track patient information to ensure completion of services and records to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize patient care and improve workflow efficiency.
- Develop, implement, and maintain departmental policies and procedures.
- Lead quality assurance initiatives to ensure high standards of care and service delivery.
- Provide ongoing education and training opportunities for staff to stay current with industry best practices.
- Review and monitor budgets, staffing, and equipment procurement.
- Maintain a high level of patient and provider satisfaction through excellent service delivery.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of diagnostic imaging procedures and equipment.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in healthcare-related software and imaging systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Associate degree in radiologic technology, healthcare administration, or a related field.
- ARRT certification in radiography.
- Experience managing a team in a healthcare environment.
- Certification and experience in mammography and/or CT is highly preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move freely within the clinic for extended periods.
- Visual acuity for interpreting diagnostic images and data.
- Manual dexterity for operating imaging equipment and computers.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds for equipment or supplies.
