Salary:
BA Step 1 $48,007 or MA Step 1 $50,670 per GITA contract
Brief Description of Position
- New York State Certification in K-12 Music Education required.
- Possess skills and ability to teach and lead choral groups and provide vocal lessons.
- Ability to use assessment to differentiate instruction and improve student achievement.
- Familiarity of the New York State Learning Standards for the Arts in relation to music education.
Qualifications/Skills/Abilities Required:
- Ability to use authentic and traditional assessments to differentiate instruction and improve student achievement.
- Evidence of academic success at undergraduate and/or graduate levels.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and dedication to student success.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Evidence of positive classroom management skills.
- Evidence of ability to work productively and collaboratively with students and families.
Qualifications/Skills/Abilities Desired:
- Experience teaching high school students.
- Experience teaching students with special education needs.
- Strong skills in using technology to support instruction.
