What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Education Teacher - Short Term Sub position at Grand Island CSD?
Employment Dates: approx. March 17, 2025 thru June 13, 2025
Work Location: Grand Island High School
Salary: Per diem $145 with increase/retroactive to collective bargaining agreement after 40 days.
Skills/Abilities Required:
- NYS Certification in Business and Distributive Education
- Ability to use authentic and traditional assessments to differentiate instruction and improve student achievement
- Evidence of strong technology integration skills and background with computer programs that pertain to the business education program
- Evidence of academic success at undergraduate and graduate levels
- Strong work ethic and commitment to schools' mission and vision
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Desire and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Evidence of positive classroom management skills
- Evidence of ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administrators
Qualifications/Skills/Abilities Desired:
- Ability to provide instruction in business courses and familiarity with relevant computer programs that pertain to the instructional program.
- Knowledge and experience with the NYS Technical Endorsement certification process
- Knowledge and ability to integrate curriculum across disciplines using a STEAM/STEM approach to learning
- Knowledge and experience with DECA and Academy of Finance
- Experiencing teaching Microsoft Office and Financial Planning
