Position Title: Clerk Typist (Guidance office) 10.5 Months
Anticipated Location/Hours Grand Island High School - 7.5 hours' daily
Monday-Friday 8:00AM - 3:30PM Anticipated Starting Date: ASAP
Salary: $21.90/HR Per SRP Contract
Qualifications:
- Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma.
- Reachable on the Civil Service list or eligible for a provisional appointment as a Clerk Typist.
Description - Job Duties Include:
- Entering, editing, managing, and correcting student information, to include grades, transcript information, and other student records for building of 900 plus students.
- Coordinate information, draft, organize, and maintain proper documentation pertaining to various student records and data.
- Coordinate and disseminate necessary course, grade, and other counseling office related information, data and reports.
- Answer phone calls, contact parents, contact schools, agencies, and providers at the direction of the student support team.
- Schedule and communicate meetings with parents, students, and others at the direction of the students support team.
- Manage the counseling office webpage, and assist with transmission of communications to students, parents, and the community.
- Complete required tasks as assigned by the school counselors, school social workers, and school psychologist.
- Draft school counseling and other related letters and communications in coordination with student support personnel and administration.
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the high school administrators.
Skills/Abilities Required:
- Working knowledge of office terminology, procedures and equipment.
- Strong people skills and ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written communication.
- Proven ability to demonstrate professionalism in phone and in-person communication with parents, and positive interactions with students, faculty, and administrators.
- Ability to learn new software programs.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to write legibly; clerical aptitude; mental alertness; neatness, tact and courtesy.
- Ability to create database and spreadsheet files.
- Ability to correctly organize, file and update a wide range of documents and files.
- Accuracy in completing tasks.
- Proven ability to demonstrate independent initiative and problem solving skills for challenges and assigned tasks.
- Knowledge of Infinite Campus, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office programs preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with office staff, teachers, student support personnel, and administrators to coordinate and conduct necessary tasks.
- Understanding and ability to abide by confidentiality requirements and FERPA.
