The Grand Isle Supervisory Union and its member districts of Alburgh, South Hero, and the Champlain Islands Unified Union School District are seeking substitute teachers and support staff for the 2024-2025 school year. The GISU and its member districts work to ensure all members of the learning community are curious, creative, courageous, and capable of pursuing their aspirations in a diverse and ever-changing world. The GISU Schools specialize in educating grades K-6/K-8. Our communities attract wholesome families, faculty and staff.
We are proud that our schools maintain impassioned faculty, personalized beliefs about success, and a caring, safe school culture. Yet, even the most dedicated teachers and staff need a sick day. When a planned or unplanned absence keeps our staff away from the classroom, a substitute teacher is there to fill in. If the applicant is accepted, he or she will be placed on a list and receive notification either the night before or the morning there is a need.
From there, the substitute goes to the required class and follows the lesson plans left by the teacher.
